Being on the water brings me sanity and aching arms. Today the sun shone brightly nearly blinding me because it had been so long since I had seen any sun at all.
Swans are regal birds. They float in their own space. We only visit. To see them take flight is to watch a jumbo jet on thin legs running as fast as possible hoping to reach escape velocity. Racing across the water splash splash splash, I wonder why can’t I run across the waves too. Just too slow to wap the water.
Graceful floating and in flight. In between not so much. But the swans don’t care what you think. They are what they are. Incarnate. Unconcerned. Immobile.
