Everyone believes they will live forever until the moment comes when their time runs out. That moment came this week for my wife’s mother. We lost her to pancreatic cancer, which doesn’t exhibit any symptoms until the disease progresses to its late stages. It is a terrible disease precisely because it is so swiftly efficient at ending lives. The only saving grace is the person feels little physical pain as the disease robs those we love of our time with them.
