Sunday September 16th
It’s a quiet day. My plan is to return my mother’s car and have lunch with her. The last lunch we will share for a few months. I get up late and realize there’s not much to do because the television was sold yesterday. I have Internet for the rest of the day until Verizon shuts that off too.
With mixed emotions I get up and photograph the house for the last time. There are so many memories in these rooms.
My first wife’s impetus was to eliminate every white surface. All that color – too much color — is long gone except for the murals on the central staircase. My second wife brought her Danish design touch and transformed the house into a showcase for art and books and friends.
